The Bufador

The “Bufador” of Peñiscola is an opening in the rocks in the heart of the old town through which the Mediterranean Sea enters and causes a continuous murmur. Seawater flows in and out to the rhythm of the waves, causing snorting and even splashing onto the street on stormy days. The “Bufador” is very close to the Museum of the Sea, located in a dead-end street accessed by an adjacent street.
